Cleaning Recommendations

The recommended process for cleaning MouseRugs may shock you because:

* you may wash and lightly scrub the 'rug' part of the MouseRug, taking care only with the fringe area which may lose a bit of its twist from washing

* the result will stun you, MouseRugs after a good washing basically look like new!

Here are some pointers, click onto links below for even more detailed recommendations:

* DRY METHOD: Best way to remove dirt, debris and other foreign objects is to use a fresh lint roller (or very sticky tape). Work the roller back and forth with firm hand pressure. You may also use a stiff (nail, or even clean bar-b-que grill type) brush to bring the foreign articles up to the surface and then do the final cleaning with the lint roller or sticky tape.

* Hand Washing

- with mild soap (dish or laundry type) by applying the soap to a clean sponge or rag and scrubbing the fiber surface. Only very lightly wash the fringe to keep its original twisted shape and appearance.

- Rinse (again avoid untwisting the fringe) and place on a flat surface to air dry. You will find that with repeated washings the MouseRug or CoasterRug will become softer and softer to the touch.

Unlike common mouse pads, with normal use and care Lextra MouseRugs will last many, many years while retaining their original appearance and functionality. They do not de-laminate and peel up away from the rubber base like many textile mouse pads seem to do. We don't know how long they last because after six years we haven't seen one wear out yet!
